Frequently Asked Questions
Should I get a portable or desktop vaporizer?
That depends on how and where you like to vape.
Portable vaporizers are compact, handheld, and battery-powered, making them perfect for using outdoors, on walks, or in your backyard. They make up the majority of vaporizer sales. Just note portable dry herb vaporizers are not the same as vape pens, which typically refer to vapes used for wax, oils or concentrates.
Desktop vaporizers are larger units that plug into the wall and are best for regular home use. While they’re not designed for travel, they tend to deliver stronger hits, more consistent performance, and added features like balloon fills or whip attachments. Since they don’t rely on batteries, they’re built for long-term durability.
What's the difference between a conduction and convection vaporizer?
Dry herb vaporizers work by heating cannabis flower to a desired temperature where cannabinoids and terpenes are released without burning the material. The three most common heating methods are conduction, convection, and hybrid heating, which combines elements of both for a more balanced experience.
Conduction vaporizers heat the herb through direct contact with the chamber, which typically results in faster heat-up times and more compact designs. Convection vaporizers use hot air to heat the herb indirectly, often resulting in more even extraction and better temperature control, though they often come in at a higher price point in larger vaporizers.

What temperature should I set my vaporizer to?
Most dry herb vaporizers operate between 150°C and 220°C. Anything below this range won’t provide much or any vapor; go too far above it and you're burning your bud.
Generally speaking:
- 160°C to 180°C offers a light experience—minimal visible vapor, less of a psychoactive high, but great flavour.
- 181°C to 200°C is a great mid-range zone with balanced vapor, a noticeable high, and good flavour output.
- 201°C to 220°C produces thicker, more visible vapor, but diminishes flavour. This range is often used to finish off a bowl or during the final stages of a session, or to "get you baked".
