I've been enjoying the DynaVap VapCap 2020 version. I think they made some good improvements over the last 2019 version. If you're looking to get into vaporizing, but you want it to be similar to using a pipe or something like that, then it's a really good product for that. It has a cult-like following, and I understand why. It's not the end-all, be-all of vaporizers. I think there are better vaporizers out there, but I think it has its place in the market, and I think it's pretty good.
I'm going to show you:
In the Box
The VapCap M comes in a very bare-bones package. The 2020 version has a recyclable cardboard package which is better for the environment. There aren't any frills but you don't need anything else. Package includes:
1 x DynaVap VapCap M Vaporizer

DynaVap VapCap M Review
✅ Almost indestructible
I think the first good thing about the VapCap 2020 is that it's indestructible pretty much just like the other versions. Nothing's changed in that regard.
✅ Cheap entry point
The second thing I like about the VapCap M is it's actually a pretty cheap entry point into vaporizing. Although, it's not my favorite vaporizer, it gets people into vaporizing and understand what vaporizing is at reasonable price So, if you're looking to get into vaporizing, but you don't want to spend a fortune on something like a Mighty, and you want to see if it's right for you, then the VapCap is a great way to go.
✅ No batteries necessary
The third thing I like about the VapCap is that you don't need a battery, all you need is a butane torch. Other cheap portable vaporizers have poor battery life which can be a drag. If you're out of battery you need to plug it in for a while and then you have to wait an hour or two for it to be working again. And by that point, you've probably just smoked something instead of vaporizing. So, if you have a battery-powered vaporizer, maybe this is a great backup that you can use also.
✅ Fits 10mm Pieces
The fourth thing I really like about this and this is specific to the 2020 version is the mouthpiece here is exactly 10 millimetre tapered edge. That means you can put this right into a 10 millimetre glass piece, so like a water bubbler or whatever. So, if you want to do that with something you already have like a water bubbler if it has a 10 millimetre opening point, then you can use that right away without any other attachments.
✅ Good vapor
The fifth thing that I've found is you can actually get some pretty good vapor out of this thing. I'd been pulling some big clouds. I think I have been getting improved vapor than from the 2019 version. The flavor is pretty good. So, I'm not saying it's the best flavor I've had in a vaporizer, but it is pretty good. And you can say the same thing about a lot of other vaporizers especially at this price point.
✅ Super portable
And the sixth and final thing that I like is obviously it's super, super portable. So you can see how small it is. It is a smallest vaporizer we sell. You can throw it in your pocket. Just like I said before, the size is incredible. DynaVap has found a way to create the smallest portable vaporizer on the market that actually works well.
❌ Learning curve
The first con that I found after using it was that there is a bit of a learning curve. So you need to learn how to do it and use it. And it's not intuitive. So, even if you give it to someone, a friend, they might not get it right away. With a vaporizer like the Mighty, you just take a puff and you get it. You're like, "Okay, so that's just like smoking." But with the DynaVap, you really do need to learn it. That's not a big deal, but it is a bit of a negative compared to other vaporizers.
❌ Inconsistency
Number two thing is if you don't give a second click, you can overheat. I’ve burned herb in this thing a few times and that's not necessarily a pleasant thing. You don't get the same kind of experience with electronic vaporizers. It's because there's a variable, which is the butane torch. So how much you heat it up really matters. And that makes it a little bit inconsistent compared to other vaporizers.
❌ Can look sketchy
The third thing that I've noticed, especially after using it with friends is that it can look sketchy. So when are you using it with a butane lighter and you're heating this up, it can look... odd. Once people know where it is, it's fine. But if you're going to be using it in a public setting, if you can't really do that in a lot of places. I wouldn't really do this at the park. You know what I mean? So, maybe it's more of a private vaporizer.
❌ Convenience
And also the fourth and final thing is I didn't find it quite as convenient as other electronic vaporizers. When I'm walking down the street and I want to pre-pack a bowl in here, using something like a PAX or a Firefly is much easier because you pack that bowl and then you can use it on your walk. This, you have to heat it up as you go and then stop and heat it up again. It's not a huge pain, but it's just not as convenient as other vaporizers.
How to use the DynaVap VapCap M:
Okay, so now I just want to show you how to use the VapCap M. Just grind up your herb and pack your VapCap M with it you. Don't want to pack it too tight, so don't push down too hard.
Then you just throw the cap on. Grab your butane lighter... A lot of people try to use regular lighters, which doesn't work as well. Turn the VapCap as you go to distribute the heat and not burn a single spot.
Once you hear the "POP" of the cap you just need to cover the air holes and you're ready to use it. You should be good to inhale multiple times per "POP" but you may need to reheat it as you go.
How to clean the DynaVap VapCap M
So to maintain your DynaVap VapCap M, you want to take out the herb every time from the chamber. Make sure it's not too hot before you do! The little scoop at the end of the cap is perfect to help get everything out. Every single time you use it, you should be doing that and removing the herb from the chamber. Don't forget.
To do a deep clean you need to disassemble the vaporizer into pieces. See the diagram below to see what to do.
The metal parts are dishwasher safe and can be cleaned in soapy water. Do not use isopropyl alcohol since it's flammable and you're using a butane lighter near it. Wipe down the inside of the bowl and clean off the o-rings. Put everything back together and you're good to go!
